Chapter 2: Transmissions: Introduction
All G-bodies are rear-wheel-drive vehicles; the transmission is
mounted to the back of the engine block and "points" toward the rear of
the car. The input shaft is splined to accept the torque converter (which is
mounted to the flexplate). The output shaft is also splined, which accepts the
front universal joint yoke.
